But I Want to Do All the Things

Anyone who knows me knows I have a lot of interests: books of all kinds, learning new things, writing, art, music, crafts of various sorts, organizing.

I want to be queen of the world and do all the things.

Just one problem.

Life.

There is the job, there are chores to do, there is shopping occasionally, there is family and friends to spend time with, there are church responsibilities.

All of these are good and important things. Even crucial things. I am a better person for doing them.

But they also mean there is less time to work on my things.

It gets discouraging sometimes.

I am reminded of a line fromThe Lion King’sopening song (Circle of Life):

“There’s more to see than can ever be seen; More to do than can ever be done.”

So if that is a given, then Gandalf is right, “All we have to decide is what to do with the time that is given us.”

If we could accomplish just one thing, what would it be?

Something to think about.
