First, I just finished reading Luke Skywalker and the Shadows of Mindor and really enjoyed it:) I have a review of it up on my SciFi blog.
I also read Physik and Queste by Angie Sage, which further’s the story of Septimus Heap.
In Physik, there is a mysterious illness that has struck the capital. Magyc can’t seem to do anything to stop it. In the mean time, the ghost of Queen Etheldredda is released from her portrait and wants to rule the land forever, just as she did in life which requires coopration on Jenna’s part. Septimus gets sent into the past and becomes apprentice to the Alchemist and Physicist Marcellus Pye, her son. Nico, Jenna, a new girl named Snorri are all invoved. Will Septimus ever return to his own time? And will what he learned of Physik and Alchemy be enough to stop the illness?
In Queste, Septimus and Jenna are anxious to save Nico and Snorri from the past where they were left. Marcellus Pye is willing enough to help, but Marcia is not so understanding of their methods at least. Little to any of them know that Merrin, who still thinks he is Septimus Heap and blames the real Septimus for everything, darkens Septimus’ fate. Not only do things go wrong for Septimus and his friends, he ends up getting the questing stone and must find the House of Foryx, a place where no one has returned from.
